We will celebrate King's Day 2025 on April 26

Indeed, traditionally we do not celebrate Kings Day on a Sunday, so that everyone can enjoy the festivities without restrictions. That means a festive Saturday with Kingsland Festival in Amsterdam and Groningen, where together we will make it an unforgettable day. King's Day officially falls on April 27, the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. But if this day falls on a Sunday, the celebration is celebrated one day earlier. This is done for practical reasons: there are often restrictions on events and public festivities on Sundays in the Netherlands, which means that many of the usual activities cannot take place. By moving Kings Day to Saturday, festivals, free markets and other events can take place undisturbed and everyone can enjoy the celebration to the fullest.
